The Mallish Democratic Republic - MDR

Established on 22 July, 2034. The Mallish Democratic Republic was an authoritarian government led by Chancellor Jari Nelson. Originally, the Mallish Democratic Republic was simply known as the "Mallish Republic" but this was changed after the foundation of the Free Mallish Youth Organization. The Government of Mallden heard ideas from the youth of Mallden and decided that the name change to the Mallish Democratic Republic was a widely supported option among the youth and citizens of Mallden.

The Chancellor Jari Nelson is a highly controversial individual in Mallish history. Some see Chancellor Nelson as a freedom fighter and a republican who did everything he could to secure the future of his nation. While others see him as a ruthless murderer and con artist. Jari Nelson was a veteran of The Last Tribal War who worked with resistance fighters from the three ethnic groups of Mallden to start the Mallish Democratic Party. Following the start of large-scale protests against the Tribal Governments. He used his influence to declare himself as the Chancellor of Mallden with little opposition. Not long after taking power, Chancellor Nelson ordered the Military to partake in "Operation Watchdog" which ordered the military to kill or capture the Tribal Elders and their families. In all three cases, the tribal elders and their families were murdered in the Tribal Estates. Following the gruesome attacks on the Tribal Elders the Tribal Estates were torched by the attacking forces.

Chancellor Jari Nelson also oversaw the passing of the Mallish Security Instruction, a bill that would create two more controversial government entities. The first entity was the Free Mallish Youth, which was a youth paramilitary, and political organization that would train children as young as 13 in military strategies and tactics, prepare them for service in the military, and indoctrinate them into the Mallish Democratic Party using propaganda. The second controversial entity was the MASI commonly referred to as the MASI to call back to the name of the legislation that founded them. MASI usually stood for "Mallish Security Instruction" or "Mallish Security Instrument." The MASI maintained an extensive informant network including FMY Instructors, Shop Keepers, Under Cover Agents, and more. The MASI is thought to employ up to 15,000 people near the peak of its operations. The MASI would routinely spy on the mail correspondence and phone calls of suspected dissidents and would use any comment that criticized the government as cause to arrest the commenter. The MASI would routinely torture, or kill those arrested to obtain information and cover their tracks. It is unknown how much Chancellor Nelson knew about the activities of the MASI. But experts say that it is fair to speculate that he knew about most of their operations as the Chancellor of Mallden.

  1. The MASI are a well known "Secret Police" agency that fell under the Jurisdiciton of the Mallish Ministry of Culture. These secret police officers used indoctrination, torture, and capital punishment to enforce the cultural laws of Mallden, and to crack down on all forms of dissent against the Mallish Democratic Republic.
